Rana, who was previously convicted in the US for providing material support to LeT, will now face trial in India on 10 criminal charges related to the Mumbai attacks.

Syed Adil Hussain Shah, a 30-year-old pony ride operator, was killed while trying to protect tourists from terrorists in Pahalgam, Kashmir. He was shot dead while trying to snatch a weapon from one of the terrorists. The attack claimed the lives of 26 people, mostly tourists. Chief Minister Omar Abdullah visited Pahalgam to offer condolences to the families of the victims and praised Shah's bravery. Shah was laid to rest in his ancestral village with hundreds of mourners attending.
A 36-year-old man, suspected to be mentally challenged, was lynched by a mob in Bihar's Bhagalpur district after he allegedly beat two people to death. The incident took place in Makandpur village on Friday night. Chotu Kumar allegedly beat Rajeev Rai (68), Jai Prakash Ram (65), and three others with a wooden log. Rajeev Rai died on the spot, while Jai Prakash Ram succumbed to his injuries during treatment. The other three are undergoing treatment at the nearest government hospital. By the time police reached the spot, locals were beating Chotu Kumar. He was taken to a government hospital where he died during treatment. Further investigation is underway.
Supporters of the Indian Secular Front (ISF) clashed with police in West Bengal on Monday during protests against the Waqf (Amendment) Act, leading to several injuries and the torching of multiple police vehicles. The clash occurred after police stopped ISF supporters from attending an anti-Waqf Act rally in Kolkata. The protests escalated when the crowd attempted to break through police barricades. Walmik Karad, a close aide of Maharashtra minister Dhananjay Munde, has been charged with ordering the murder of sarpanch Santosh Deshmukh, who allegedly opposed Karad's extortion bid targeting a wind energy company. According to a chargesheet filed by the state Crime Investigation Department (CID), Karad allegedly asked his associates to "eliminate" anyone who interfered with their extortion attempt.
